AFTERCARE
To keep your keepsakes in as good a condition as you possibly can, I'd strongly recommend reading through the below. Any further questions, check our FAQs, or get in touch to ask for our help.
WHEN TO REMOVE YOUR JEWELLERY
Your jewellery is not waterproof. Its the same as other jewellery - You should remove it when submerged in water for any length of time. This includes:
Washing your hands or washing dishes
Bathing
Showering
Swimming; swimming pool, sea, stream etc
When using any manner of cleaning chemicals - this is particularly important when cleaning as many don't consider this necessary. Cleaning chemicals or soaps of any kind can be extremely damaging to resin and the metal of your jewellery - removing when using cleaning products of any kind is extremely important. Products that may cause damage are but not limited to:
Bleach
Chlorine
Any cleaning chemicals
Dish soap
Shampoos, conditioners, body gels
Bubble bath
Perfumes and aftershaves
It is also recommended to remove items when sleeping. This prevents items getting caught on clothes/bedding etc and getting damaged.
HEAT & UV EXPOSURE
Prolonged exposure to UV rays or heat can cause yellowing, discolouration or potentially melt the resin. In order to prevent this from happening, please be mindful of where you are storing your items.
Don't store your items on windowsills. This may place it in in direct sunlight.
Take care when smoking - smoke with your other hand. This is a discolouration risk also
OTHER INFORMATION
If you’ve chosen a sterling silver piece, you may - like some, notice a bit of tarnish over time. This might show up as blackening or a general dullness on the metal. As you probably know its just a natural chemical reaction between the silver and the salts/oils in your skin.
This is of course an easy fix.
Every order comes with a silver polishing cloth. At the first sign of tarnish, just give your piece a rub over and it will return to its original shine. Repeat whenever you need to it will not damage the item.
